This 1980’s newspaper building stood under used and in need of renovation. Extending the arts and culinary concept of the neighbouring Tremont, the building was divided into 8 creative studios connected by a central hallway. The hallway and lobby functions as the Press Gallery. The building was opened up with the addition of new store fronts that complied with the surrounding heritage district guidelines. Sixty Five Simcoe Street is now a vibrant home to creative and culinary businesses. The building features a 100 seat black-box theatre, known as the Simcoe Street Theatre, the Fleet-Wood Dance Studio and the Grey Heron wool shops. The building also includes The Creemore Coffee Studio and the Collingwood Food Co-op and Sol Kitchen.
